Anthony David Gonzalez was a tight end in American football who played for the National Football League. He played for 17 years playing on the field. He is considered among the greatest tight ends in history. Additionally, he was the NFL's leader for receiving yards and third-highest total of receptions, Gonzalez was also the NFL tight end who had the most receptions.

On March 15th, 2013, Gonzalez agreed to re-sign to the Falcons to a two-year, $14 million contract, despite his claim that he would be retiring after the 2013 season. With the retirement of Randy Moss, 37-year-old Gonzalez had his final season as the NFL's active leader in receiving yards.
